Independent analysis of Test match markets, county cricket, The Hundred and Ashes special wagers. Five UKGC-licensed sportsbooks scored by our editorial panel.
Editorial independence: KensingtonLounge is an independent review site, not a betting operator. We may receive a referral commission when you open an account via our links. This has no bearing on our editorial scores — position on this page is determined by our scoring rubric, never by commercial arrangement. Read our methodology.
Ranked by our seven-axis editorial rubric. Scores reflect licence standing, cricket market depth, live coverage, mobile experience, and customer service quality.
KensingtonLounge earns a sign-up commission from operators when a reader registers via a marked link. The commission rate differs between operators; the order on this page does not. Every “Visit” button carries rel="sponsored" as required by Google Ads policy. Read our full scoring methodology.

Lord’s: where Test markets are shaped
KensingtonLounge was built by a small editorial collective with a combined thirty years following English cricket as both spectators and punters. We grew frustrated with comparison sites that buried Test cricket under football coverage, or ranked operators by whoever paid the highest referral rate.
Our approach is the opposite: cricket is the primary lens, and the seven-axis scoring rubric was designed specifically for the needs of a match-day bettor working through a long Test. We measure market depth per session, in-play suspension frequency, and cash-out availability on multi-day wagers.
We do earn a commission when a reader opens an account via our links. That commission rate does not change which position an operator appears in — the panel sets rankings blind to commercial terms.
Full methodologyCommon queries from punters new to cricket betting markets.
Match result (home win, away win, draw) is the most straightforward market and typically carries the tightest spread. Beyond that, top batsman, top wicket-taker, and first innings total are heavily traded in the pre-match window. In-play, session runs and fall-of-next-wicket attract the largest liquidity on major fixtures. The Hundred has introduced ball-by-ball markets that were not common on Test cricket a decade ago.
The toss is a significant variable at pitches known to deteriorate or assist spin. At Lord’s and The Oval on sunny mid-summer days, batting first is often the preferred choice. At venues with high humidity or responsive pitches (Headingley, Edgbaston in autumn), the toss matters considerably for session-total and top-bowler markets. Bookmakers typically suspend match-result markets briefly around the toss and reissue prices within a few minutes reflecting the decision.
The Hundred is a 100-ball-per-innings format introduced by the ECB in 2021. Each team faces five blocks of ten balls, delivering a faster pace than T20. Bookmakers treat it as a distinct product — markets open earlier, cash-out is available throughout, and ball-by-ball wagers are more granular. Because innings can swing dramatically in short sequences, in-play prices move faster than Test cricket. Punters familiar with T20 will find the betting rhythm similar but slightly compressed.
Coverage varies considerably. Coral and Ladbrokes carry the widest domestic fixture lists, with Division One and Two Championship matches usually included alongside Vitality Blast. 888sport and BetVictor focus on the Premier Division and cup knockout stages. AllBritishCasino’s sports section does not cover county cricket as thoroughly. If county matches are central to your wagering, our county cricket guide ranks operators specifically on domestic market depth.
Decimal odds include your stake in the return: odds of 2.50 return £2.50 for every £1 wagered, giving a £1.50 profit. Fractional odds of 3/2 return your £1 stake plus £1.50 profit — the same figure. To convert from fractional to decimal, divide the numerator by the denominator and add 1 (3/2 = 1.5 + 1 = 2.5). Most UK sportsbooks default to fractional odds but allow you to switch to decimal in account settings. Our cricket odds guide explains the conversion in full with match-day examples.
Betting should be an enjoyable pastime, not a financial pressure or a source of distress. The UK Gambling Commission requires all licensed operators to make responsible-gambling tools readily accessible.
